Andhra Pradesh: New Pattadar Passbooks to Speed Up Land Dispute Resolution

The collector distributed the new pattadar passbooks to farmers under the Mee Bhoomi–Mee Hakku programme at the Pandipadu village in Kallur mandal.

Kurnool: District collector Dr A. Siri on Saturday said that land disputes were being resolved on a fast-track basis as part of the government’s efforts to ensure transparency in land records. In this process, new pattadar passbooks bearing the state emblem are being issued to farmers in place of old land title documents, she stated.

The collector distributed the new pattadar passbooks to farmers under the Mee Bhoomi–Mee Hakku programme at the Pandipadu village in Kallur mandal.

Addressing a gathering, the collector said the new passbooks are embedded with QR codes that allow instant access to complete details of the respective land parcels. She explained that the system includes latitude and longitude details, which cannot be altered, thereby ensuring security and transparency. She added that the new pattadar passbooks cannot be duplicated.

The collector advised farmers to resolve issues related to joint land ownership and other disputes amicably. She also informed that in cases where pattadar passbooks have been deposited with banks, tahsildars would coordinate with bank officials to replace the old passbooks with the new ones.

The collector said revenue clinics have been established to address various land-related grievances. Special attention is being given to issues such as patta lands wrongly recorded as inam or endowment lands, errors under Section 22-A, dotted lands, Webland corrections and other revenue-related disputes. She added that steps were being taken to resolve these issues within the next two to three months.
