VISAKHAPATNAM: Union civil aviation minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu distributed appointment letters to 200 unemployed youth at a Rozgar Mela held in Visakhapatnam on Saturday as part of a nationwide recruitment drive.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually addressed 51,000 appointees across the country as part of the drive.
Ram Mohan Naidu congratulated the selected candidates and said lakhs of youngsters compete for government jobs. He asked the recruits to remain grateful to their parents and families for supporting them throughout their journey.
Stressing the importance of public service, the minister said the success of a government employee lay not merely in holding a post but in the number of people who benefited from their work.
He said India was gaining global recognition and the youth had a responsibility to strengthen the country’s reputation through efficient public service.
