Keep Ready Draft Indrakeeladri Master Plan By July 15: Endowments Chief
Expressing dissatisfaction over the delay in construction despite repeated reviews, Ramachandra Mohan questioned engineering officials about the slow pace of work: Reports

VIJAYAWADA: Endowments commissioner K. Ramachandra Mohan directed officials to ensure that the Indrakeeladri Master Plan is ready by July 15.
Inspecting the ongoing construction of Prasadam and Annaprasadam building on Thursday, the commissioner underlined that the Andhra Pradesh government is committed to comprehensive development of the Kanaka Durga Temple atop the Indrakeeladri hill.
He asserted that the primary focus of the government will be on providing better facilities and services to ordinary devotees at the Indrakeeladri Hill. In this regard, he instructed temple authorities to make both the Prasadam and Annaprasadam operational by the forthcoming Sravana Masam so that devotees could benefit from the improved infrastructure.
Expressing dissatisfaction over the delay in construction despite repeated reviews, Ramachandra Mohan questioned engineering officials about the slow pace of work. He ordered them to speed up the projects, if need be by working round-the-clock in shifts, keeping the Dasara Navaratri festival in view.
The commissioner inspected the flooring and selected colour schemes for the new laddu preparation building, stressing that no compromise should be made on quality. He warned that wastage of public funds and unnecessary delays would not be tolerated. Checking out the Annaprasadam building, he said the complex should be able to serve free meals to devotees during the upcoming Dasara festivities.
Ramachandra Mohan took serious exception to commercial activity beneath the elevated queue complex, where cool drink stalls, a cloakroom, and other business establishments have come up. He ordered immediate removal of all commercial establishments and directed that every inch of temple land be utilised solely for the pilgrims' needs.
Those who accompanied the commissioner included Temple Trust Board chairman Borra Radhakrishna (Gandhi), deputy executive officer Kishore Babu, executive engineer Rama, and assistant commissioner Rangarao.
