Andhra Pradesh: Bengaluru-Based Villagers Bid ₹51 Lakh For Vinayaka Chavithi Rights
Both successful bidders are engaged in business in Karnataka but hail from Ayyalavaripalli: Reports
NELLORE: A strong bond with their native village saw two Bengaluru-based businessmen bid more than ₹51 lakh for the Ganesha laddu and kalasam at Ayyalavaripalli village in P.S. Puram mandal of Prakasam district.
Mutyala Subba Reddy won the bid for the Ganesha laddu for ₹30,01,116, while Palugulla Narayana Reddy secured the kalasam for ₹21,01,116, taking the combined auction value to ₹51,02,232.
Both successful bidders are engaged in business in Karnataka but hail from Ayyalavaripalli. Locals said many villagers had settled in Bengaluru, where they were involved in various businesses, while retaining strong ties with their native place.
“Though they live and conduct their businesses in Bengaluru, they return to the village during festivals and actively participate in community celebrations,” locals said.
The unusually high bids have become a talking point in the region, with residents viewing them as a reflection of the continued emotional and cultural connect of Bengaluru-based villagers with their ancestral home.
