Andhra Pradesh: Axis Energy Secures EPC Contract For 552 Mwp Solar Project In AP

ANANTAPUR: Axis Energy has secured an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract for a 552 MWp utility-scale solar power project being developed in Anantapur district by Evren, a joint venture between Brookfield and Axis Energy.
The project is targeted for commissioning within the next 18 months. It is part of a 400 MW wind-solar hybrid renewable energy project integrated with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and connected to the state electricity grid. The project is designed to support Andhra Pradesh’s peak power demand by providing renewable power during peak periods.
Further, Axis Energy has started executing EPC works for the project’s 640.5 MW wind component, sources said.

The project is backed by long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs) with Andhra Pradesh Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (APSPDCL).
The integrated wind, solar, and storage configuration is expected to enable more reliable utilisation of renewable power, while helping manage intermittency and meet peak-demand requirements.
