SIT Arrests Govindappa in Mysuru Liquor Scam

Vijayawada:The state CID’s special investigation team has arrested an accused in AP liquor scam case, Balaji Govindappa, in Mysuru on Tuesday and brought him to the city.

The SIT served notices to three accused in the case including K Dhananjay Reddy, Krishna Mohan Reddy and Balaji Govindappa, asking them to appear before it in the city office on Sunday.

However, the trio kept off the probe without giving any prior intimation to the SIT. The sleuths spread the dragnet, leading to the arrest of one of them.

Earlier, the high court rejected their anticipatory bail plea. The Supreme Court too refused to give them any interim relief from arrest.
