CM Naidu Prays to Goddess Durga for Well-being of People
Chandrababu Naidu expressed his wish for the State's prosperity and sought the goddess's blessings for all

Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu offered prayers on Monday to deity Kanaka Durga, seeking divine blessings on the people of Andhra Pradesh for their well-being and joy.
The CM along with wife Bhuvaneswari visited the Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam atop Indrakeeladri here and offered ‘Pattu Vastralu’ to the deity to mark Mula Nakshatra -- as part of the ongoing Dasara Navaratri festivities.
Naidu told the media, “I have presented the ‘Pattu Vastralu’ to the deity. I wished that the deity would provide well-being and jobs to the people in AP. With Her blessings, the Krishna river is overflowing and all the major irrigation tanks and dams are filled to the brim. I wish the people health and wealth and for the state a steady growth.”
He said, so far, eight lakh devotees took darshan of Kanaka Durga at the temple to mark the Navaratri festivities. On Monday alone, 1.20 lakh devotees took darshan. The state government made elaborate arrangements for the devotees visiting the temple, he said.
The CM said, “We have enhanced the quality of Prasadam at the Durga temple and regulated the VIP darshan, so that more devotees can take darshan in a comfortable manner.”
“With blessings from the deity, our government is implementing several welfare schemes. I beseeched the deity to bless both the central government and the state government as both are doing good service to the people,” he said.
Maintaining that the TD government had developed the Durga temple during 2014-19, Naidu said, “We are taking up several developmental works at the temple. The building that would provide Anna Prasadam, being built at an estimated cost of `26 crore to accommodate 1,500 devotees at a time, would be completed in six months.”
He said the new facility for preparation of Prasadam, being arranged at a cost of ` 27 crore, is expected to be ready in three months. “We would take up construction of a Puja Mandap at a cost of `5 crore and build a Yaga Sala with support from donors. We aim to complete the elevated queue complex, being set up with `14 crore, in five months.”
Naidu said the government wished to conduct the Godavari Pusharakams in 2027 and Krishna Pushkarams in 2028 in a grand manner. “We organised the Vijayawada Utsav to mark Dasara festivities," he said.
The chief minister said there was less place on Indrakeeladri compared to the Tirumala hills. But, the state would make this up with construction of accommodation facilities in the city for the devotees visiting the temple.
He said the government is providing funds to temples that are not having adequate financial means.
