Anantapur YSRC, Congress Mayoral Candidates Sign Stamp Papers to Fulfil Promises
YSRC and Congress mayoral candidates sign public pledges on stamp papers, committing to address Anantapur's civic issues if elected.

a first-of-its-kind initiative in Anantapur's electoral history, Discover Anantapur founder and social activist A.G. Anil Kumar challenged the city’s mayoral candidates to put their election promises on a stamp paper and sign them publicly at the historic Clock Tower in the heart of Anantapur on Friday morning to prove that they will be politically accountable to their commitments.
Discover Anantapur representatives interacted with the three main candidates belonging to the ruling alliance partner BJP and opposition YSRC and Congress on Wednesday. They put before the three candidates the city’s long-pending issues, including underground drainage and ban on single-use plastics. They told the contesting leaders that they put their promises on a stamp paper and sign the same at the Clock Tower.
Responding to the initiative, two mayoral candidates B.C. Ramesh Gowd, the YSRC candidate, and Dada Gandhi of Congress accepted the challenge and signed the stamp papers at the Clock Tower. BJP candidate Ajesh Kumar had promised to arrive for the signing ceremony but did not arrive at the Clock Tower.
Discover Anantapur put the signed bond papers on the public domain with deadlines against each promise.
Discover Anantapur is an organisation actively involved in civic improvement, environmental protection, and community welfare initiatives in the city of Anantapur.
The real significance of its exercise will emerge after the elections, when the signed promises will be a reference point for people to make the winning candidate fulfil his commitments.
