Additional District Sessions Judge Venkateswara Rao sentenced both the accused to life term after the prosecution proved the charges against them: Reports

ANANTAPUR: The Second Additional District Sessions Court at Hindupur in Satya Sai district on Friday sentenced a wife and her lover to life imprisonment for murdering her husband in 2018.
Police said Palepalli Lakshmi of Kotlepalli in Chilamathur mandal had an extramarital affair with Firangi Sridhar of the same village. They planned to eliminate Lakshmi’s P. Anjaneyulu who objected to their relationship. After killing Anjaneyulu, Lakshmi and Sridhar tried to wipe out all evidence.
Chilamathur police registered a case based on a complaint by family members of Anjaneyulu. Following investigations, police arrested Lakshmi and Sridhar.
Additional District Sessions Judge Venkateswara Rao sentenced both the accused to life term after the prosecution proved the charges against them. The court also convicted the duo for causing the disappearance of evidence and sentenced them to five years of rigorous imprisonment. It further imposed a fine of ₹15,000 each.
Sathya Sai district SP S. Satish Kumar appreciated the efforts of the investigation and prosecution teams and the Chilamathur police for securing the conviction in the eight-year-old murder case. The SP said the verdict reinforces that offenders cannot escape law. Those committing crimes will ultimately face punishment.
