A wild bear attack created panic among villagers in Anantapur district. A farmer was grievously injured after being attacked by a wild bear on his way to the fields at Thenagallu in Kundurpi mandal.
Early on Wednesday morning, Venkatesulu was walking towards his fields when suddenly, a wild bear pounced on him. Shocked over the unprecedented attack, Venkatesulu remained still for some time but soon tried to escape from the wild animal.
By the time, he suffered serious injuries. However, he escaped from the bear and reached the village. His family members shifted him from Kalyanadurgam to Anantapur for better treatment.
He suffered injuries on his head and shoulders for which doctors administered 40 stitches.
Following the incident, the villagers urged the foresters to save them from attacks by wild animals.
