Anam flays Jagan for talking about Hindu Dharma

Nellore: In an indirect attack on former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, minister for endowments Anam Ramanarayana Reddy said, “A person who cannot show respect to his own mother or sister has no right to speak about Hindu Dharma or Agama Shastra.”

Addressing the media at his home here on Saturday, Reddy reiterated that YSRCP leaders who committed mistakes must face legal consequences. “No one is above law, and this government is committed to lawful governance,” he added.
He came down heavily on YSRCP, holding them responsible for the deterioration of administrative systems during their five-year rule.
Anam alleged that the YSRCP regime had dismantled institutional integrity and ruled through fear and intimidation.
“During their tenure, anyone who did not obey their orders was severely harassed. It was a government run by atheists who neither respected religious values nor democratic norms,” he stated.
Reddy asserted that the current government, backed by people’s trust, has no intention of targeting political rivals with false cases. “The legal cases surfacing now are the result of misdeeds committed by YSRCP leaders during their rule. We are only following the law,” he said.
Highlighting recent religious celebrations, the minister noted that Sri Rama Navami festivities were being grandly celebrated in temples like Ramatheertham.
He also recalled disturbing incidents under the previous regime, such as burning of temple chariots in Antarvedi and Bitragunta which sparked widespread outrage.
The minister also announced a mega job fair to be held later this month at Atmakur to be organised under the Andhra Pradesh Skill Development Corporation. Around 30 companies are expected to participate, offering job opportunities to educated unemployed youth.
“As promised during the elections, our government is working with a structured plan under the guidance of HRD minister Nara Lokesh to generate 25 lakh jobs in the state,” Anam said. He urged eligible youth to attend the fair with proper documents to secure employment.
Highlighting the central government’s PM Surya Ghar Yojana, Anam said the initiative aims to provide free and fair electricity to the poor. In the combined Nellore district, the government has sanctioned 1 lakh solar units with 10,000 units allocated to each of the 10 constituencies.
