Anakapalli: 2 Killed as Mini-Van Rams Parked Trolley in Yalamanchili

Two people from Narasaraopet died when a speeding van hit a parked trolley at Marribanda Junction, Yalamanchili.

Anakapalli: In a tragic road accident on Saturday morning, a fruit-laden van, travelling at high speed, rammed into a trolley parked by the roadside at Marribanda Junction in Yalamanchili mandal. The driver and the cleaner of the van were killed on the spot.

According to preliminary information, the van was travelling from Tuni towards Anakapalli when it went out of control and hit the stationary trolley from behind. The front portion of the van was badly mangled in the impact, and both occupants died of their injuries on the spot.

Locals who were present at the junction alerted the police immediately. Police reached the spot, inspected the scene and took the bodies out of the wrecked vehicle and shifted them to a hospital for post-mortem examination. The deceased have reportedly been identified as residents of Narasaraopet in Guntur district.

Police have registered a case and launched an investigation. They are looking into why the trolley was parked on the roadside, the speed of the van, and why the driver lost control of the vehicle.
