AMR Clarifies Rs 2.2-Crore Ornaments It Donated to Karnataka Temple Weigh 1.28 kg

AMR India clarifies gold quantity used in temple ornaments amid social media allegations

Vijayawada: Hyderabad-based AMR India Limited has clarified that 1.28 kg of gold has been used in the Rs 2.2-crore worth ornaments donated by it to the Anjanadri Hanuman Temple in Karnataka.

The clarification comes after allegations that only 250–300 grams of gold has been used in making of the ornaments.

In a press statement, AMR India Ltd. director B. Subbarami Reddy said the gold ornaments have been donated by industrialist and AMR chairman A. Mahesh Kumar Reddy to the Anjanadri temple located in the Gangavati region of Koppal district in Karnataka on May 8, 2026.

The company stated that a total of 12 ornaments, including a crown, makara thoranam, mace, umbrella and other items, had been presented to the temple.

The ornaments had been made by K. Rangana Char Sons Metal Works in Adoni of Kurnool district. The company statement maintained that the relevant invoices and supporting documents have been submitted to temple authorities.

The company issued the statement of clarification after reports circulating on certain media and social media platforms claimed that only a small quantity of gold had been used. AMR India termed these reports “false propaganda” and appealed to the public not to believe unverified claims.

Further, the company stated that invoices from Tibarumal Jewellery, Hyderabad, have valued the ornaments at Rs 2,20,42,000. A judicial bond submitted by the manufacturing firm reportedly stated that 1.4 kg of gold had been provided for the work. After processing and wastage, the weight of final ornaments came to 1.28 kg, the statement added.
