Ambati Slams Naidu Over Amaravati Focus, Alleges Misinformation

Questioning the emphasis on Amaravati, he said large investments were being proposed without a clear timeline.

Nellore: Former minister Ambati Rambabu on Monday criticised Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu over the government’s focus on Amaravati, alleging misinformation and policy inconsistency.

Addressing the media in Ongole, Ambati accused the Chief Minister of avoiding direct political confrontation and resorting to “character assassination, false cases, and propaganda.” He alleged that the government was spreading misinformation on the proposed MAVIGUN model and drew parallels with earlier controversies.

Questioning the emphasis on Amaravati, he said large investments were being proposed without a clear timeline, while alternative options for development were not being considered. He also alleged that project costs were being inflated and that the focus on the capital was affecting broader development priorities.

Referring to proposals worth Rs 75,000 crore, Ambati claimed that welfare schemes such as Aarogyasri and fee reimbursement were being neglected. He further criticised the handling of projects including the Rayalaseema Lift Irrigation scheme and alleged lack of policy clarity.

On the occasion of the Chief Minister’s birthday, Ambati urged a shift towards what he termed people-centric governance and claimed that public dissatisfaction was increasing.
