YSRCP Leader and Former Minister Gudivada Amarnath
Visakhapatnam: YSRC West Godavari regional coordinator and former minister Gudivada Amarnath launched a strong criticism of home minister Vangalapudi Anitha during a press conference at the party office in Visakhapatnam.
He accused her of being indifferent to the breakdown of law and order in the state, citing 790 murders and thousands of atrocities, while also failing to explain the escape of a ganja smuggler. Amarnath rejected claims that his remarks were directed at women in general, clarifying that he had condemned the derogatory language previously used by Anitha against Y.S. Vijayamma and Bharathi. He highlighted his respect for women across all political parties and highlighted his family’s three-generation political legacy, asserting that he has never used offensive language.
Amarnath criticised Anitha’s dismissive comment, “Vadevadu” (Who is that guy?), describing it as arrogance unbecoming of a home minister. He demanded accountability from Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan and minister Lokesh citing offensive remarks made by their own leaders, including Balakrishna and Chintamaneni Prabhakar. He alleged that the TD was deliberately misusing his words for political gain while ignoring urgent public issues such as custodial deaths, rising aquafeed prices, and the disappearance of a four-year-old girl. Presenting video evidence of Anitha’s past remarks, Amarnath declared that he would not be intimidated by legal threats and reaffirmed his commitment to defending his party and the people.
