He stressed that the capital would play a pivotal role in accelerating Andhra Pradesh's long-term economic development

VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has said Amaravati is being developed as a world-class Creative City that will become the driving force of Andhra Pradesh's future economic growth, with focus on sustainability, jobs and global standards in urban planning.
Reviewing the progress of the Amaravati 2.0 Integrated Master Plan and the Land Pooling Scheme (LPS-2) with senior officials and representatives from Singapore on Wednesday, the chief minister said the plan should help create an inclusive capital where people from all regions of the state can live, work and grow together.
Naidu said the government is committed to transforming Amaravati into an international-standard city backed by world-class infrastructure and a robust economy capable of generating large-scale employment opportunities. He stressed that the capital would play a pivotal role in accelerating Andhra Pradesh's long-term economic development.
The Chief Minister noted Amaravati is being planned with well-designed Inner and Outer Ring Roads to improve connectivity and support future urban expansion.
During the meeting, the Singapore delegation presented the project's scope, implementation strategy and action plan, outlining proposals for area development, infrastructure planning and investment models.
Highlighting the state's water resources, Naidu said that despite the challenges posed by El NiƱo conditions, the Pattiseema Lift Irrigation Scheme had ensured the transfer of Godavari waters to the Krishna River, making the Amaravati region water-secure and resource-rich. He said reliable water availability would provide a strong foundation for the capital's sustained growth.
The Chief Minister said Amaravati should evolve into a "Creative City" with a vibrant and innovation-driven economy. The government's objective is to achieve global benchmarks in urban development while creating one of the country's highest per capita income levels through sustainable economic growth.
Naidu also underscored the importance of environmental sustainability in the city's development. The capital would adopt green energy solutions and green building practices to ensure environmentally responsible growth while enhancing the quality of life for residents.
Municipal administration minister P Narayana, principal secretary Suresh Kumar and finance principal secretary Piyush Kumar were also present.
