Amaravati To Be Prime Model Of Bioengineering: ADC chief
The ADC CMD underlined that to turn the CM’s vision into a reality, workshops are being organised with prominent horticultural experts from across the country to train the staff effectively.

Vijayawada:Amaravati Development Corporation (ADC) chairperson and managing director (CMD) D. Lakshmi Parthasarathi announced that they are actively working towards ensuring that Amaravati becomes a prime model of bioengineering.
Addressing a workshop in Vijayawada on Friday, she emphasised that government buildings and various clusters will feature significant green initiatives, including parks in the 18 LPZs (Light Pollution Zones) in keeping with the vision of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu.
The ADC CMD underlined that to turn the CM’s vision into a reality, workshops are being organised with prominent horticultural experts from across the country to train the staff effectively.
In this regard, she elaborated on plans to develop a sprawling 320-kilometre road system that will incorporate greenery along its path. There will be green buffer zones of 100 to 150 metres alongside the naturally formed Kondaveeti Vagu and Palavagu rivers in Amaravati.
Lakshmi Parthasarathi said in compliance with the guidelines of the National Green Tribunal, ADC is preparing blue-green strategies across a 22-kilometre stretch within the Krishna River basin.
Speaking at the workshop, biodiversity tree mapping expert Dr. Smita Hegde shared insights into the methods of mitigating high temperatures by about 4 degrees Celsius using tree species such as Kalpavriksha and neem.
Bengaluru International Airport's Landscape Division DGGM Srinivas Kulankusha discussed the benefits of using sensor-based weather systems to enhance green developments at the airport.
Other notable speakers at the workshop included Dr. P. Sriram, an expert in biological pest control, environmentalist Sharan Gouda, ADC horticultural officers V.S. Dharmaja and P. Vishwaprasad, Andhra Pradesh Green Building Council (APGBC) managing director K.V. Srinivasan, APCRDA Horticulture director M. Hariprasad, apart from officials of the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation, APGBC and horticulture staff of the Tadepalli and Mangalagiri municipalities.
