Alur Congress In-Charge Hacked to Death at Guntakal
APCC chief Sharmila demanded that the state government take stringent action against the accused.

Anantapur: Rivals brutally attacked Chippagiri Lakshmi Narayana, Alur assembly constituency Congress party in-charge, and his son near a railway bridge on the outskirts of Guntakal town in Anantapur district on Sunday.
The Congress leader died on the spot, while his son suffered serious injuries after their rivals waylaid them at the rail under bridge between Chippagiri and Guntakal.
The attackers travelling in a tipper first hit the Innova car in which the father and son had been travelling. Lakshmi Narayana and his son tried to escape from the spot. But their rivals chased them, killing Lakshmi Narayana and seriously injuring his son C. Vinod.
Nearby people, who witnessed the attack, alerted police and ambulance services. They rushed the Congress leader and his son to the Guntakal hospital, where doctors declared that Lakshmi Narayana had already died. Vinod is being treated for his serious injuries.
Guntakal police have registered a case based on a complaint by family members of the Congress leader.
