Alleged Lapses at SPW College Mar Smooth NEET UG Conduct in Tirupati
Candidates were reportedly allowed into the exam hall as late as 11.40 a.m., well past the official deadline of 11 a.m., leading to confusion and anxiety.

Tirupati: While the NEET UG 2025 examination went off smoothly at most centres in Tirupati and Chittoor districts on Sunday, alleged mismanagement at the SPW Degree and PG College centre sparked outrage among students and parents.
Candidates were reportedly allowed into the exam hall as late as 11.40 a.m., well past the official deadline of 11 a.m., leading to confusion and anxiety. Parents outside the centre accused officials of negligence, saying the delay disrupted the students' focus ahead of the high-stakes national exam.
Parent D. Chandramohan alleged that invigilators interrupted students during the exam to take photographs, fingerprints, and signatures, consuming precious time. “There was no wall clock in the room. Students had no idea how much time they had left,” he said, demanding that the District Collector order a re-examination at the centre.
Despite the incident, officials stated that the exam was conducted peacefully at other centres under tight security. Chittoor District Collector Sumit Kumar and SP V.N. Manikantha Chandolu inspected key centres such as PVKN and Savitrama Degree Colleges.
In Tirupati, DRO G. Narasimhulu reviewed arrangements at SGS Arts College and Sri Padmavati Women’s College, confirming that nine out of ten centres functioned without issues. Of the 4,445 registered candidates, 4,333 appeared for the exam, while 112 were absent.
