All TD Panels to Be Formed by May 18, Except State Committee: AP CM

State committee to be formed after Mahanadu

Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday said all committees of the Telugu Desam except the state committee should be constituted by May 18.

The state committee would be constituted after the party’s annual Mahanadu this year, which would be held at Kadapa on May 27, 28 and 29, he said.

Speaking to his party’s MPs, MLAs and members of various committees, through a teleconference, the CM said the Annadata scheme would be launched this month itself. A sum of Rs 15,000 would be paid for each child under the Talliki Vandanam scheme, much before the schools are reopened, he said.

"Besides implementing the Super-6 promises, we are also resolving the financial and non-financial issues," Naidu said.

By June 12, the alliance government in the state would be completing one year in office. The CM asked the party leaders to take the government programmes closer to the people.

A majority of the nominated posts, including the posts of chairmen of various corporations, directors of cooperatives and AMC chairmen, have already been filled, Naidu said.

He said the remaining posts too, would be filled soon. The posts are being filled by rigidly following the spirit of social justice, the CM said.

The party membership enrollment has created a record of sorts in the country, Naidu noted and called for prompt distribution of membership cards. “Public representatives should be accessible to the people, and party leaders should work in alignment with the aspirations of the grassroot cadre and the public,” he stressed.

Observing that Gujarat has been witnessing rapid growth due to the presence of a stable government, the CM said AP too should follow the Gujarat model.

"I am giving equal importance to the party and the government. The visible transformation achieved in one year has instilled confidence among the people of the state," the chief minister observed.
