AI Singapore Invited to Launch Training Programmes, Exchange Initiatives, Skill Development Modules for AP Students
Naidu stressed the importance of prioritising partnerships between AI Singapore and universities and research institutions in AP.

Vijayawada: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has proposed to AI Singapore to launch artificial intelligence training programmes, exchange initiatives, and skill development modules for students across Andhra Pradesh. The AP delegation headed by Naidu continued their engagements on the third day of their Singapore visit.
During the day, the delegation met Prof Mohan Kankanahalli, deputy executive chairman of AI Singapore, and sought their cooperation to set up AI research and innovation centres in the state.
Naidu stressed the importance of prioritising partnerships between AI Singapore and universities and research institutions in AP.
The CM proposed launching AI training programmes, exchange initiatives and skill development modules for students across the state.
The AP delegation also met NG Jan Lin Wilin, senior vice president of SIA Engineering. The CM explained about the upcoming airports in the state and sought SIA’s cooperation for aviation maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services. He also briefed the SIA representatives on the government’s newly introduced industry-friendly policies while showcasing the state’s opportunities in the aviation sector.
Naidu invited the firm’s representatives to visit Andhra Pradesh to explore potential investments.
Responding positively, Jan Lin stated that a delegation would be sent to the state soon. Visakhapatnam and Krishnapatnam have been identified as suitable locations for the MRO initiative.
The AP delegation met Lim Yong Wei, executive director of Keppel Corporation, a globally recognized Singapore-based company in the fields of urban development, commercial infrastructure, and basic amenities. The CM also held discussions with representatives from several major industrial companies. The meeting with Keppel primarily focused on its potential partnership in the development of Amaravati.
Naidu invited Keppel to collaborate on projects in IT, commerce and housing sectors to transform Visakhapatnam into a growth engine for the state's development.
The chief minister and his team also met GIC Singapore investment corporation’s chief officer, Bryan Yeo, citing opportunities for investment in Amaravati’s development, the real estate and industrial sectors, and infrastructure across the state. Discussions revolved around formulating strategies for long-term partnership and stable investments with GIC. Naidu said the state government was ready to provide a conducive environment for GIC to invest in sectors like healthcare, education, urban planning, and civic infrastructure.
Another high point of the visit was when Naidu held talks with Rahul Kale, group head, Wilmar Oleochemicals & Biofuels. The meeting covered potential investment opportunities in food processing, edible oils and agri-infrastructure sectors. He proposed collaboration in food processing to help create a value-based market for farmers.
Wilmar expressed interest in providing the necessary technology for this initiative.
