AEEE Recruitment To AP Power Utilities Draws Over One Lakh Applications

VIJAYAWADA: More than one lakh candidates have applied for 639 Assistant Executive Engineer (AEEE) posts in Andhra Pradesh's power utilities, including AP Transco, AP Genco and the power distribution companies (Discoms).
This was stated by AP Transco joint managing director (Vigilance & HRD) Surya Sai Praveen Chand on Thursday. The recruitment process, notified on June 25, 2026, would be conducted in a completely transparent, impartial and merit-based manner, he said.
He cautioned candidates against believing in rumours and misleading claims being circulated on social media and other platforms regarding the recruitment.

He categorically denied such claims and urged candidates not to fall prey to brokers or fraudsters promising appointments.
He clarified that there was no change in the examination schedule and that the computer-based test (CBT) would be held as planned between August 22 and 29, 2026.
The JMD said the examinations would be conducted in line with the standards followed for major national-level competitive tests such as GATE, UGC-NET, CAT, CUET, CDS and JEE. He assured candidates that every stage of the recruitment process—from question paper preparation and examination conduct to evaluation and declaration of results—would adhere to the highest standards of transparency, confidentiality, fairness and technical integrity.
Stringent security measures have also been put in place to prevent malpractice, impersonation and other unfair means during the examinations. Candidates found indulging in such activities would face criminal prosecution in addition to other disciplinary action, he warned.
Praveen Chand reiterated that merit in the written examination would be the sole criterion for selection and that no individual could influence the recruitment process. He appealed to candidates to immediately report anyone demanding money or offering false assurances of employment to AP Transco or the concerned Discom authorities, adding that strict legal action would be initiated against offenders.
Praveen Chand also said a 24-hour online grievance redressal system has been made available through the AP Power Recruitment Portal to address candidates' queries and complaints promptly. Candidates were advised to rely only on official notifications and concentrate on their preparations.
