Adivasis Oppose Hydro Project Survey
The Sangham also demanded an immediate halt to all ongoing survey activities in Kusumavalasa and nearby villages.

Visakhapatnam:The Adivasi Girijana Sangham has demanded the immediate cancellation of survey permissions granted for the proposed Kusumavalasa Hydro Power Project in Alluri Sitarama Raju district, alleging that they were issued without the consent of local Gram Sabhas. State general secretary Killo Surendra said permissions for geological, environmental and social impact surveys were granted by district authorities to the Survey of India and Geological Survey officials without consulting tribal communities. He alleged that the approvals violated tribal rights and legal provisions protecting Scheduled Areas.
Surendra said the project, entrusted to Navayuga Company, had its survey work subcontracted to Veg Mine Energy LLP. He criticised officials for granting permissions despite assurances that no project activity would proceed without Gram Sabha approval.
The Sangham also demanded an immediate halt to all ongoing survey activities in Kusumavalasa and nearby villages.
