Adimulam Pulls Up Officials Over Protocol Violations

The MLA also expressed anger over the absence of officials from the electricity department, Roads and Buildings, and Panchayat Raj at the Praja Darbar, terming it a serious lapse in public accountability.

NELLORE: Sathyavedu MLA Adimulam on Wednesday came down heavily on government officials during a public grievance meeting (Praja Darbar) at Varadayyapalem, accusing them of sidelining elected representatives and acting under political pressure.

It may be recalled that the Telugu Desam had suspended the MLA last year following certain allegations. Since then, he has repeatedly raised concerns over what he describes as protocol violations and had earlier brought the issue to the notice of Minister Anagani Satya Prasad.

Expressing strong displeasure, the MLA questioned how officials could conduct bhumi puja ceremonies for government buildings without informing him and in violation of protocol, allegedly allowing unauthorised persons linked to the TD to preside over official programmes.

“Are you government officers or bonded labourers? Do not work as slaves for someone else. Do not live in fear,” he told officials.

Drawing a clear line between himself and the TD leadership, Adimulam warned officials against yielding to what he termed temporary political influence. “Those who come like visitors to a fair are not permanent. I am here to stay,” he said, cautioning that any repetition of protocol violations would compel him to approach the High Court.

The MLA also expressed anger over the absence of officials from the electricity department, Roads and Buildings, and Panchayat Raj at the Praja Darbar, terming it a serious lapse in public accountability. He announced that formal complaints would be lodged with the district collector and the CMD concerned over their absence.
