ACB Unearths Disproportionate Assets Of Tainted Tahsildar

Sridhar was caught on Tuesday while allegedly accepting a ₹20,000 bribe from a farmer.

ANANTAPUR: The Anti-Corruption Bureau conducted searches at multiple locations in Anantapur and Sri Sathya Sai districts following the arrest of Gudibanda Tahsildar Sridhar in a bribery case.

Sridhar was caught on Tuesday while allegedly accepting a ₹20,000 bribe from a farmer. He was arrested by ACB officials led by DSP Prasad Reddy and later produced before the ACB court in Kurnool.

Subsequent searches at his residence in Upparapalli village and other locations led to the discovery of disproportionate assets. Officials seized documents related to a G+2 residential building, cash of around ₹55 lakh, gold jewellery weighing 221 grams, silver articles weighing 685 grams, and fixed deposits worth about ₹24 lakh, along with other valuable household items.

ACB officials said further investigation is underway to verify the seized assets and examine other aspects of the case.
