ACB Traps Village Survey Assistant Taking Rs 14,000 Bribe

Unwilling to pay the bribe, the complainant approached the ACB, which registered a case and laid a trap. Rajesh was caught while accepting the bribe amount and was arrested on the spot.

Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials on Friday trapped a village survey assistant red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 14,000 at the Pedayadara Revenue Secretariat in Machilipatnam mandal of Krishna district.

According to ACB officials, the complainant, V. Vana Venkata Ravindranath of Machilipatnam, had applied on January 22, 2026, for survey and demarcation of agricultural lands belonging to his mother and sister at Vandapalem village. Village survey assistant Sunkara Rajesh carried out the demarcation but allegedly demanded Rs 14,000 for issuing the survey certificates.
Unwilling to pay the bribe, the complainant approached the ACB, which registered a case and laid a trap. Rajesh was caught while accepting the bribe amount and was arrested on the spot.
ACB officials said searches were being conducted at the residential and office premises of the accused. He will be produced before the ACB court after completion of legal formalities.
