ACB Arrests Vinukonda Revenue Officer In Disproportionate Assets Case
Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Saturday arrested a Vinukonda municipal revenue officer in a disproportionate assets case after conducting searches at multiple locations in Prakasam and Palnadu districts.

Tirupati: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Saturday arrested a Vinukonda municipal revenue officer in a disproportionate assets case after conducting searches at multiple locations in Prakasam and Palnadu districts.
The accused, Yadala Maheswara Rao, revenue officer of Vinukonda Municipality and in-charge municipal commissioner of Darsi Municipality, was booked after the ACB found that he had allegedly accumulated assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Acting on specific information, ACB officials from Ongole conducted simultaneous searches at five locations linked to the officer and his relatives in Darsi, Narasaraopeta and Sattenapalli. During the raids, officials seized incriminating material, including property-related documents.
According to the ACB, the accused had acquired assets in his own name and in the names of his mother, wife and son. The immovable assets identified include nine house plots, two residential flats and 0.89 acres of agricultural land.
Movable assets seized during the searches include `2.60 lakh in cash, bank deposits of about `55,000, gold weighing approximately 729 grams valued at `1.29 crore, silver weighing 9.275 kg valued at `39 lakh, one car, three motorcycles and other household articles. Officials said further verification was under way.
The accused was arrested and will be produced before the Special Court for ACB cases in Nellore.
According to official records, Rao joined the municipal administration department in 1998 as a bill collector on compassionate grounds. He was later promoted as junior assistant and senior assistant and served in several municipalities, including Sattenapalli, Nellore, Chilakaluripeta, Narasaraopeta and Vinukonda, before being promoted as revenue officer.
