870 DSC-2025 Sports Quota Applications Found With Fake Certificates
A government vigilance report on the Aadudam Andhra scam has also been submitted, and the state is awaiting further action: Reports

VIJAYAWADA: Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) chairman Animini Ravi Naidu emphasised the government’s commitment to impartial and transparent selections in sports quota appointments under the Mega DSC 2025 recruitment.
He revealed that of the 421 posts reserved for sports candidates, more than 870 applications were found to have fake certificates. This has triggered investigations and possible legal action against both the applicants and the certifying associations. A government vigilance report on the Aadudam Andhra scam has also been submitted, and the state is awaiting further action.
Addressing the media at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation (IGMC) Stadium in Vijayawada on Saturday, along with SAAP director S. Santosh Kumar, Ravi Naidu urged sports associations not to create hurdles for meritorious athletes. He noted that many players were facing difficulties in obtaining valid certificates because some associations lacked official affiliation with SAAP. He warned associations to strictly adhere to SAAP regulations.
Ravi Naidu highlighted irregularities during verification of certificates for DSC teacher recruitment under the sports quota. He reiterated that stringent action would be taken against associations responsible for issuing fraudulent certificates.
Marking the birth anniversary of hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand, he said state-level competitions were organised across Andhra Pradesh for the first time, with 24,142 players participating. Winners received ₹33 lakh in cash awards. “Next year, we aim to involve over three lakh players in the National Sports Day celebrations,” he added.
He cautioned that multiple associations per sport would not be permitted and that SAAP would step in if duplicates continued. Sporting events, he said, must not be treated merely as revenue-generating opportunities.
Appealing to the global Telugu community, Ravi Naidu urged NRIs to support budding athletes. He lauded NRI Yadlavalli Rakesh for adopting national-level weightlifter S. Venugopal from NTR district under the P4 scheme and encouraged others to follow suit.
