80% Subsidy On Paddy Seeds For Cyclone-Hit Farmers In AP

NELLORE: Sarvepalli MLA Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy stated that the state government has decided to distribute paddy seeds at 80% subsidy for farmers who had suffered losses due to the recent Cyclone Ditwah.
Speaking to the media here on Tuesday, Somireddy said that thousands of paddy nurseries and fields were damaged following heavy rains caused by the cyclone.
The MLA said that agriculture minister K. Atchannaidu responded positively to his request to help the affected farmers.
Collector Himanshu Shukla has directed the agriculture officials to make arrangements for the distribution of seeds from Tuesday afternoon.
“Farmers in Sarvepalli, Kovuru, Nellore Rural, Kavali and other constituencies will receive subsidised seeds,” the MLA. He thanked Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and agriculture minister Atchannaidu for their swift response to his request and urged officials to ensure timely supply to all affected farmers.
