Vijayawada:State health authorities have arranged for 75,000 emergency medical kits to be given away to the flood-hit people in several localities of Vijayawada city. Health special chief secretary M.T. Krishna Babu in a statement issued on Monday said the kits were being mobilised to 14 medical relief camps for distribution.
The AP Medical Services and Infrastructure Development Corporation (APMSIDC) supplied 50,000 kits and the Drugs Control Administration (DCA) supplied 25,000 kits.
Each kit will have six types of medicines and a pamphlet on how they could be used. These medicines can cure fever, cold, vomiting, gastroenteritis and other diseases mainly caused due to water pollution and poor hygiene. The special CS said the health personnel have been instructed to provide healthcare round.
Out of 75,000, 10,000 kits are being sent through choppers to be distributed to the affected people and the remaining kits will be distributed by the APMSIDC and DCA authorities.
