70 Vehicles Seized During Cordon-And-Search in Nellore
Police said the drive aimed to prevent thefts, maintain law and order and eliminate anti-social elements
Nellore: Police conducted large-scale cordon-and-search operations in Allipuram and Bhagat Singh Colony, Nawabpet in the early hours of Saturday to curb anti-social activities and strengthen public confidence.
The operations were carried out at TIDCO housing colonies, involving about 245 police personnel, including DSPs, circle inspectors, sub-inspectors and special teams. Nearly 600 houses were searched across both localities.
In Allipuram, the Rural DSP led a team of around 120 personnel, who searched about 300 houses and seized 46 motorcycles and three autos without valid documents. Residences of rowdy-sheeters and suspect-sheeters were also verified.
In Bhagat Singh Colony, under Nawabpet limits, the Town in-charge DSP supervised a team of nearly 125 personnel. Police searched another 300 houses and seized 24 motorcycles and three autos lacking proper registration. Suspected individuals were identified and their antecedents verified.
Police said the drive aimed to prevent thefts, maintain law and order and eliminate anti-social elements. Similar special operations will continue across the district, with strict action against offenders.
