Seven Killed as Bus Hits Auto in AP’s Palnadu District

The accident occurred when a private bus going from Vijayawada to Tirupati hit an auto rickshaw: Police

Chilakaluripet: Seven died in a road accident that took place at Chilakaluripet Main Road in Palnadu district in Andhra Pradesh early Thursday.

The accident occurred when a private travel bus going from Vijayawada to Tirupati hit an auto rickshaw. Of the 15 people travelling in the auto, seven died while eight others including four children escaped with serious injuries. The injured were rushed to Guntur GGH.

The deceased were identified as residents of Veluru village in Chilakaluripet mandal. They were returning from a birthday celebration in Kondamanjulur in Bapatla district when the accident happened.

Four died on the spot, two died at Guntur GGH and one at Chilakaluripet Government Hospital. The deceased have been identified as Bontha Babu (62), Bontha Manemma (55), Sampoornamma (70), Lakshmamma (75), Gangamma (50), Chautupally Suvartha (45), and Mariamma (45).
