6,500 Bicycles Distributed To Students In Addanki
Another 4,000 high school students will receive bicycles in phases
Nellore: Energy minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar on Wednesday said the bicycle distribution programme was launched in the Addanki Assembly constituency to ease hardships faced by government school students who walk long distances to school. After distributing bicycles to Zilla Parishad school students at Komminenivaripalem, Vallapalli and Ambadipudi, the Minister said the government is strengthening quality education in government schools on par with private institutions. e said 6,500 students in the constituency have received bicycles so far through CSR support from Assist Seva Organisation and other donors. He added that bicycles were also given to some Intermediate students, while 135 differently-abled students were provided tricycles worth ₹1.30 lakh each. Another 4,000 high school students will receive bicycles in phases, he said. The Minister said the coalition government has filled 16,300 teacher posts since coming to power, ensuring dedicated teachers for each class. He noted that ₹15,000 financial assistance is being provided to every eligible student and that ₹10,000 crore is being spent on the ‘Talliki Vandanam’ scheme. He later distributed Class X study material to students and urged them to excel academically.
