550 naval personnel mark R-Day with grand parade

Visakhapatnam: The Eastern Naval Command (ENC) marked India's 76th Republic Day with a grand ceremonial parade comprising over 550 personnel. The ceremonial event included a 50-men Ceremonial Guard and marching contingents from various naval units, including ships, submarines, air squadrons, shore establishments, defence security corps, and sea cadet corps.
Vice Admiral Rajesh Pendharkar, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Eastern Naval Command, led the event. In his address to the naval personnel, defence civilians, and their families he extended warm Republic Day greetings and reflected on the day’s significance.
He reminded attendees that January 26 marks the adoption of India’s Constitution in 1950, which established the nation as a democratic republic. The Admiral urged everyone to uphold the core values of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity enshrined in the Constitution and to re-dedicate themselves to building a stronger and more prosperous India.
Emphasising the vision of Viksit Bharat, a developed India, the Admiral noted that the country stands on the brink of a transformative era. He highlighted that this vision goes beyond mere economic growth and technological advancements, it aims to ensure dignity, security, and opportunity for every citizen.
The Vice Admiral commended the Eastern Naval Command for its high tempo of operational activities. He celebrated recent achievements including successful mission-based deployments and participation in bilateral and multilateral exercises such as MALABAR, SIMBEX, and SLINEX. Additionally, he praised outreach initiatives like blood donation camps and public engagement events that align with the broader vision of Viksit Bharat. “These efforts not only secure our maritime interests but also contribute to our nation's overall growth and aspirations,” he stated.
Following the parade, Vice Admiral Pendharkar took time to interact with participants, veterans, families, and spectators over tea.
