51 Poor Families Receive House Site Pattas in Vijayawada
The MLA said an office had also been set up in the locality to address public grievances and facilitate development works.

Vijayawada: The state government on Tuesday distributed house site pattas to 51 poor families in the 58th Division of the Central Assembly constituency in Vijayawada, providing legal ownership to residents who have lived on government land for over four decades.
Around 70 families have been residing for nearly 40 to 45 years on government land in Survey Nos. 24/10B and 27/1B, each occupying about 86.39 square feet. Of them, 51 families were found eligible and granted pattas under GO No. 30, bringing formal recognition to their homes.
NTR district collector G. Lakshmisha handed over the pattas as part of the Sankranti celebrations. He said the initiative reflected the government’s commitment to the welfare and economic empowerment of the poor. He added that the pattas would enable beneficiaries to construct permanent houses without fear of eviction.
Dr Lakshmisha urged the beneficiaries to make use of government schemes to improve their living standards and said legal ownership would now allow them to seek building permissions and institutional loans.
Vijayawada Central MLA Bonda Umamaheswara Rao said the distribution fulfilled a promise made to residents of Nandamuri Nagar during the election campaign. He said the coalition government under Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was committed to poverty alleviation and implementation of welfare schemes, including those under the ‘Super Six’ assurances.Sankranti cSankranti celebrationselebrations
