50 Medical Teams Deployed For PM’s Amaravati Visit

Health minister Satya Kumar Yadav and health special chief secretary M.T. Krishna Babu reviewed the healthcare arrangements in Amaravati with senior officials on Thursday.

Vijayawada: The Health department has made all arrangements to provide medical services by deploying 50 teams comprising super-speciality and speciality doctors at various locations in Amaravati for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s capital re-launch programme.

Health minister Satya Kumar Yadav and health special chief secretary M.T. Krishna Babu reviewed the healthcare arrangements in Amaravati with senior officials on Thursday.

Accordingly, six ambulances equipped with advanced life support systems and 21 ambulances with basic life support systems have been arranged. These medical teams and ambulances are stationed at Vijayawada airport, the helipad near the Secretariat in Amaravati, the VIP convoy route, galleries, and parking areas to respond promptly to any medical emergencies.

In addition, three makeshift hospitals — each with 10 beds — have been set up at the main venue of the public meeting to be addressed by Modi. Of these, one is near the VVIP parking area and two are close to the public galleries. These temporary facilities will be equipped with a cardiac defibrillator, glucometer, ECG machine, oxygen cylinders, nebulisers, and other essential equipment.

Considering the high summer temperatures, health authorities have also deployed 31 teams comprising ANMs and ASHA workers to distribute buttermilk and ORS sachets.
