50-Bed Critical Care Block Inaugurated at GGH
Keerthi Chekuri said the facility would strengthen emergency medical services, critical care and isolation capabilities and help meet future healthcare needs.
Kakinada:Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Union minister for gealth and family welfare and chemicals and fertilisers J.P. Nadda virtually inaugurated the 50-bed Critical Care Block at Government Teaching General Hospital in Rajamahendravaram on Saturday from Amaravati.
East Godavari district collector Keerthi Chekuri said the block would make advanced medical services, including emergency care, critical care and isolation facilities, more effectively available to people in East Godavari and surrounding areas.
She said the building was constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 23.75 crore using funds under the Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM). The modern block was established as part of a statewide initiative to set up critical care blocks in 21 hospitals.
