5 Rajahmundry ESI Hospital Doctors Among 9 Suspended
The suspension came following a surprise inspection of the hospital by labour minister Vasamsetti Subash on Monday.

Vijayawada: Nine staff members, including five doctors, of the Employees’ State Insurance (ESI) Hospital in Rajahmundry have been placed under suspension on Tuesday on charges of dereliction of duty.
The suspension came following a surprise inspection of the hospital by labour minister Vasamsetti Subash on Monday. He examined the attendance registers and found that some failed to mark their attendance, while certain others registered their attendance and went away without being on duty.
The minister questioned some of the staff. But they failed to give convincing replies related to the issues at the hospital.
Vasamsetti Subash took a serious note of the matter. He directed the Insurance Medical Services (IMS) director to initiate action against those who had neglected their duty. Accordingly, the director issued suspension orders to the erring staff members on Tuesday.
The IMS director maintained that the state government is committed to providing quality healthcare to ESI subscribers and their family members. He made it clear that they will not tolerate any negligence and indiscipline with regard to providing healthcare to patients.
The director said an inquiry is in progress. Based on its report, further action will be taken.
