₹400-Crore Special Package For Vizag Beautification
GVMC commissioner Ketan Garg directed officials to begin city beautification and development works under the state’s ₹400-crore special package.
Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) commissioner Ketan Garg directed engineering officials to immediately commence city development and beautification works under the ₹400-crore special package sanctioned by the state government.
On Tuesday, the commissioner, along with GVMC chief engineer PVV Satyanarayana Raju, inspected central median development works from Dutt Island Junction to Polamamba temple in Siripuram.
Garg said the funds would be used for developing major roads, central medians and dividers, improving greenery, modernising junctions, installing modern lighting and taking up other development and beautification works across the city.
He directed officials to accord top priority to the works as only one month remained before the Partnership Summit scheduled to be held in the city. He asked the chief engineer to prepare and implement an action plan in coordination with engineering officials and representatives of the contracting agency.
The commissioner instructed officials to commence the works immediately and complete them within the stipulated timeframe. He also stressed that prescribed quality standards must be strictly maintained in all works.
