337 Students Join Railway Awareness Drive

A total of 337 students participated in the events. An essay-writing competition attracted 121 students, who wrote on the evolution of Indian Railways, the significance of the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme and the role of modern railway infrastructure in national development.

Vijayawada: Ahead of the inauguration of the redeveloped Rayanapadu Railway Station under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on July 17, the Vijayawada Division of South Coast Railway organised a series of competitions to create awareness among students about railway modernisation and infrastructure development.

The competitions were held in collaboration with PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 2, Vijayawada, as part of an outreach programme highlighting the transformation of Indian Railways.

A total of 337 students participated in the events. An essay-writing competition attracted 121 students, who wrote on the evolution of Indian Railways, the significance of the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme and the role of modern railway infrastructure in national development.

The programme also featured painting and elocution competitions. While 134 students showcased their creativity through paintings on railway modernisation and infrastructure development, 82 students took part in the elocution competition, speaking on themes related to nation-building, modern railways and public infrastructure.

Senior divisional personnel officer Premkumar Lakhavath appreciated the enthusiastic response from students and said such initiatives strengthen the bond between Indian Railways and the younger generation while promoting awareness of the country's infrastructure development.
