₹318 Crore Sanctioned For Nellore District Under Palle Panduga

NELLORE: Endowments minister Anam Ramnarayana Reddy said the state government has sanctioned ₹318 crore for rural development in Nellore district under the Palle Panduga programme, giving villages a renewed boost ahead of Sankranti.
The minister, along with Nellore MP Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy, on Tuesday inaugurated several development works in the Atmakur Assembly constituency, including VPR Amrutha Dhara drinking water plants and cement concrete roads at Eguvapalli in Ananthasagaram mandal, Rajupalem in Marripadu mandal, Madarabad and Kavaliyadavalli in AS Peta mandal, Sangam mandal headquarters, and NV Kandriga in Chejerla mandal.
Addressing a gathering at Rajupalem, Anam said six drinking water plants were inaugurated in a single day in the constituency. He praised MP Vemireddy for maintaining 27 water plants in Atmakur using his own funds to ensure safe drinking water in rural areas.
The minister said Palle Panduga funds were being utilised for roads, drinking water and basic infrastructure. He said ₹36.12 crore had been spent on 567 CC roads in Atmakur, ₹5.47 crore on 79 CC roads in Ananthasagaram, and `66 crore had been sanctioned for 335 works under the Jal Jeevan Mission. He added that 172 Gokulams, cattle sheds and cattle hostels were being built to support livestock development.
On infrastructure, Anam said 487 acres had been sanctioned for the Dagadarthi Airport, which is proposed to be completed at a cost of ₹900 crore. He also referred to ongoing railway and national highway projects and efforts to complete the first phase of the Somasila High-Level Canal.
The minister said temple development works were being taken up through the Srivani Trust, including the construction of 150 new temples, renovation of 1,058 ancient temples, and monthly assistance to 5,870 temples under the Dhoopa Deepa Naivedyam scheme.
MP Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy said the VPR Amrutha Dhara initiative was improving drinking water availability in rural areas and that development works were being carried out across villages under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
