₹31.5 Crore Road, Bridge Projects Planned in Atmakur
Proposals were being prepared for internal cement concrete roads at ₹2 crore per mandal in the constituency.
TIRUPATI: The government has sanctioned Rs 6.50 crore for a four-lane bypass in Atmakur and proposed another Rs 25 crore for a bridge at Veerlagudipadu, Endowments Minister Anam Ramnarayana Reddy said on Friday.
Speaking at a programme in Atmakur, the minister said the bypass in Atmakur rural area would cost around Rs 9 crore, including dividers, central lighting and beautification works.
He said a proposal was also being prepared for a road connecting Nagulapadu road junction with Vasili road junction through Narasapuram. Proposals were being prepared for internal cement concrete roads at ₹2 crore per mandal in the constituency.
Anam directed officials to monitor drinking water supply, roads, irrigation and housing in rural areas. He asked Revenue and Panchayat Raj officials to survey road boundaries and install boundary stones to prevent encroachments, besides ensuring quality and transparency in development works.
Reviewing agriculture, he advised farmers in water-scarce areas to reduce paddy cultivation and take up dryland and alternative crops. He directed the Agriculture, Horticulture and Irrigation departments to coordinate on technical advice and irrigation support.
At the final general body meeting of the Atmakur Mandal Parishad, Anam said political positions were temporary but public service and constitutional values were permanent. He said the people's verdict in the forthcoming local body elections should be respected.
During the visit, he inaugurated a Bhavitha building at West MPPS school and an MRC-cum-MEO office building, constructed at Rs 28.30 lakh and Rs 53 lakh respectively.
