3-member TD Team Visits Nellore to Form District Committee

During the meeting, Ramanarayana Reddy said: "The aim is to form a strong committee that can lead the party with vision."

Nellore: The Nellore district Telugu Desam Party is set for a change of leadership. A three-member panel appointed by the party high command gathered opinions here on Tuesday on the revamp of the district party committee.

The committee consisted of revenue minister Anagani Satya Prasad, Chandragiri MLA Pulivarthi Nani and Arya Vysya state corporation chairman Dundi Rakesh. The panel members accorded a grand welcome by endowments minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy and others.

The panel also included local MP Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy.

The day began with unfurling of the party flag, following which the expanded parliamentary meeting commenced at the Nellore TDP office. The premises were abuzz with leaders, cadres, and supporters.

During the meeting, Ramanarayana Reddy said: "The aim is to form a strong committee that can lead the party with vision.

Elected representatives in the district have shared their views. These opinions will be compiled into a report and submitted to the CM, who will take the final decision on the new district committee."

Committee members also interacted with grassroots workers and received applications from ASHA workers, highlighting the open-door nature of the consultations.

According to party insiders, “the process is crucial for choosing the new district president and affiliated committee leaders, who would be tasked with steering the TDP to effectively counter the YSRC.”

The race for the district president post is heating up. As per speculations, the TD’s Nellore parliamentary party in-charge and Wakf board chairman SK Abdul Aziz, parliamentary party general secretary Chejerla Venkateswar Reddy, Vemireddy Pattabhirami Reddy, a close follower of minister Narayana, and Kotamreddy Giridhar Reddy, brother of MLA Sridhar Reddy, are in the race for the post.

As per party sources, the three-member committee is carefully documenting these preferences and would soon forward them to Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. Based on his decision, a full-fledged district committee would be formed.

The meeting saw wide participation from district-level leaders, local representatives and party cadres, reaffirming the TDP’s intent to consolidate and strengthen its organisational base in Nellore.
