3 Eastern Fleet Ships Arrive in Thailand To Boost Naval Ties

Visakhapatnam: Three frontline warships of the Indian Navy's Eastern Fleet—INS Udaygiri, INS Kavaratti and INS Shakti—have arrived at Sattahip, Thailand, as part of their operational deployment to South-East Asia, reinforcing India's maritime engagement with regional partners.
The visit is aimed at enhancing bilateral naval cooperation and strengthening the long-standing maritime relationship between India and Thailand.
The Eastern Fleet contingent is led by Rear Admiral Alok Ananda, Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Fleet. On arrival, the ships received a warm welcome from the Royal Thai Navy, reflecting the growing defence ties between the two countries.
The Indian Navy said the deployment demonstrates India's continued commitment to promoting maritime security, regional stability and stronger partnerships with South-East Asian nations. It also underscores the importance of defence diplomacy in advancing cooperation with friendly maritime neighbours.
The deployment provides an opportunity to showcase India's indigenous shipbuilding capabilities. The three warships reflect the country's advances in indigenous design, modular construction and state-of-the-art naval technology.
