245 Cases Booked During Late-night Vehicle Checks In Nellore

Nellore: As part of intensified night policing, Nellore police conducted large-scale vehicle inspections across the district and booked 245 cases and imposed fines totalling Rs 1,43,585 on the night of December 26. The nakabandi operations (check-post operations), carried out from 10 pm to 1 am, resulted in 41 cases of open drinking, 13 cases of drunk driving and 191 e-challan cases under the Motor Vehicles Act.

Vehicles driven by intoxicated persons were seized. Police said the drive focused on crime prevention, with checks in vulnerable areas, verification of suspicious persons, special patrols at youth gathering points, and intensified surveillance at railway stations, bus stands and isolated locations to ensure public safety.
