222 B.Tech, 91 M.Tech Degrees Awarded at IIT Tirupati's 7th Convocation

Nellore: The Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati held its 7th Convocation Ceremony with a solemn event at its permanent campus at Yerpedu on Sunday.
The chief guest was Lakshmi Narayanan, co-founder, Cognizant & Chancellor, KREA University. The event was presided over by Sajjan Jindal, chairman and managing director of JSW Group and chairperson for the board of governors of IIT Tirupati.
A total of 212 B. Tech degrees, 91 M Tech degrees, 53 M.Sc degrees, 16 MPP degrees, 13 MS (Research) degrees, 28 PhD degrees, 01 M Tech & PhD Dual Degree, 01 MS (Research) & PhD Dual Degree, 01 Diploma, and 01 Certificate of Foundations in Engineering Sciences were awarded at the convocation.
Eighteen students were listed for medals and prizes. Special efforts and achievements of exceptional students were recognised with awards.
Arvind Srinivasan was awarded the President's Gold Medal for outstanding academic performance among all the 2025 B.Tech graduates. Megavarshini won the Governor’s Prize for all-round performance in curricular and extracurricular activities.
The toppers of UG and PG programmes were also awarded prizes.
Director Prof KN Satyanarayana described the growth of IIT Tirupati during past years. He cited the efforts for construction of a permanent campus.
Sajjan Jindal, chairman of the JSW Group, congratulated the graduating students, faculty and staff members of the institute for their efforts. He cited the initiatives of the central government in the fields of science and technology.
Chief guest Lakshmi Narayanan told the graduates to remember that they are unique, important and different. “The responsibility you hold extends beyond yourself to the community. Always pay attention to diverse perspectives, lend a hand to those in need and speak up for what's right.”
He gave the example of Ole Kirk Kristiansen, a skilled and hardworking carpenter who created the largest toymaker Lego. “Be curious as curiosity, creativity and critical thinking will serve you well in every step of your professional and personal lives.”
