2,050 Police, Fire and Prison Posts Notified in AP

AP SLPRB notifies 2,050 posts across police, fire and prisons departments, including 378 Sub-Inspector and 1,569 constable posts.

The Andhra Pradesh State Level Police Recruitment Board (SLPRB) on Wednesday issued notifications for recruitment to 2,050 posts in the police, fire services and prisons departments.

The recruitment covers 378 Sub-Inspector posts, 1,569 police constable and allied posts and 43 Scientific Assistant posts.

The SI vacancies include 253 Sub-Inspectors of Police (Civil), 116 Reserve Sub-Inspectors of Police (AR) and nine SIs in the Special Protection Force (SPF). Another 60 posts have been notified in specialised categories, comprising 50 Sub-Inspectors of Police (Communications) and 10 SIs in the Police Transport Organisation (PTO).

At the constable level, the notification includes 542 Stipendiary Cadet Trainee (SCT) Police Constables (Civil) and 285 SCT Police Constables (AR). It also includes 158 Firemen in the State Disaster Response and Fire Services Department, 150 male Warders and 21 female Warders in the Prisons and Correctional Services Department.

In addition, 200 Police Constables (Communications) have been notified, while the PTO has 15 vacancies for Constables (Mechanics) and 198 for Constables (Drivers).

The recruitment also covers 43 Scientific Assistant posts in the Forensic Science Laboratory, including 10 in Physical, 13 in Chemical and 20 in Biology/Serology disciplines.

The recruitment was sanctioned through G.O.Ms. No. 81 of the Finance Department dated August 22, 2026, with a subsequent amendment issued on September 11.

The SLPRB said the dates for submission of online applications and the preliminary written test would be announced separately through a press release and published on its official website. Candidates have been advised to verify their eligibility and other requirements before applying. Applications will be accepted online only through the SLPRB website.
