2025 DSC Teachers Stage Self-Respect Rally In Vijayawada
Nearly 7,000 teachers selected through the 2025 DSC recruitment took part in an ‘Atma Gaurava’ rally in Vijayawada, protesting what they called a malicious campaign against their appointments and asserting that they secured their jobs on merit.
Teachers selected through the 2025 District Selection Committee (DSC) recruitment conducted a massive ‘Atma Gaurava (self-respect) rally’ in Vijayawada on Sunday, protesting what they termed a “malicious campaign” by YSRC leaders against their appointment.
Nearly 7,000 teachers from the erstwhile Prakasam, Guntur, Krishna and West Godavari districts took part in the rally, which began near the Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium on Bandar Road and proceeded towards the Ambedkar statue at Swaraj Maidan.
Carrying placards and raising slogans, the teachers alleged that YSRC leaders were attempting to undermine their achievement by portraying their recruitment in a derogatory manner. They said they had secured their jobs through merit after preparing for and appearing in the DSC examination and that their appointments were not based on sympathy or any form of compassionate recruitment.
Referring to former chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, they said, “If sympathy following his father’s death helped him become chief minister, was that not a form of compassionate appointment?”
The protesters rejected the description of the recruitment as “Mega DSC – Daga DSC”, asserting that DSC-2025 was a recruitment drive in which talented candidates emerged victorious through merit.
Similar rallies have already been organised by DSC-2025 successful candidates in several districts, including Kurnool and Tirupati.
