₹200 cr Para Sports Hub To Come Up In Visakhapatnam: Minister

Visakhapatnam: Visakhapatnam district in-charge minister Dola Sree Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy announced a major initiative to construct a para sports complex on a 25-acre site in Visakhapatnam district, with a budget of ₹200 crore, aimed at promoting the physical and mental well-being of disabled individuals.

On Friday morning, 241 disabled individuals received 380 high-tech assistive devices, valued at ₹49.01 lakh, through IDBI Bank’s corporate social responsibility programme in collaboration with the Department of Differently-Abled Persons. The distribution took place at the Zilla Parishad Conference Hall, where the minister and key dignitaries emphasised the government’s commitment to accessibility and inclusion.

On the occasion, the minister stated that the government continues to strengthen its efforts to empower disabled individuals by offering opportunities to showcase their talents and lead confident, independent lives.

Various mobility aids, including motorised tricycles, wheelchairs, and hearing aids, were distributed at the event, reflecting the government’s ongoing mission to improve accessibility and enhance opportunities for the differently abled community.
