20 Road Expansion Projects for Rajamahendravaram; Smooth Pushkaralu Planned
Municipal staff and officials inspect road-widening works in Rajamahendravaram as part of the city’s preparations for the upcoming Godavari Pushkaralu in 2027.

Kakinada: In view of the Godavari Pushkaralu-2027, Rajamahendravaram Municipal Corporation has come up with a plan to undertake road-widening projects in the city.
Municipal commissioner Kethan Garg said that in phase-1, the expansion work of the East railway station road, the Morampudi road, the Korukonda road, the Gunduvari Veedhi and the Gadalamma temple road was undertaken. More than 50 per cent of the work has been completed.
The process of issuing TDR bonds for these 5 roads would be completed soon.
As part of Phase 2, 10 more roads would be developed as per the new city master plan. These are the Kotilingala Ghat road, the Jendapanja road, the Kateru road, the stadium road, the old bypass road, the Seethampeta road, the timber yard main road, the Moolagoya Junction, the Undavalli Vari Veedhi, the Seshayya Metta junction road.
Private building owners have voluntarily come forward for the road-widening and submitted their consent documents to the municipal corporation.
The commissioner said compensation will be given to the affected building owners. Some 15 teams have been formed by the municipal corporation's urban planning department for development of the 15 roads including Phase - 1 and 2.
Each committee will have an assistant city planner, town surveyor, TPBO, VRO and secretariat secretaries. In the context of the 2027 Pushkaram, the commissioner said there would be no traffic problems. After completion of the road expansion and development works, all the problems of traffic congestion would end.
